Warning lights
Engine management, ABS, airbag/SRS, parking brake, transmission and other system warnings.
Warning light on, running badly or refusing to start? Strive Motors carries out proper vehicle fault diagnosis — using the code as a clue, then testing what is actually happening before recommending parts.
A code tells us what a control unit has noticed. It does not automatically prove that the component named in the code has failed.
The job is to test which explanation fits the vehicle — not just replace the first part mentioned by a scan tool.
You do not need to know the technical fault before booking. Tell us what the vehicle is doing, when it happens and what warnings you can see.
Engine management, ABS, airbag/SRS, parking brake, transmission and other system warnings.
Misfires, rough running, hesitation, poor starting, loss of power and intermittent behaviour.
Reduced power, DPF faults, emissions issues, AdBlue/SCR warnings and related drivability problems.
Non-starts, battery concerns, alternator/charging faults and starter-system problems.
Electrical symptoms, sensor faults, power/ground problems, wiring concerns and intermittent failures.
Overheating, unusual system readings and faults where scan data needs checking against the physical vehicle.
Not every fault needs every test. The process follows the evidence and becomes more targeted as we understand the vehicle.
Symptoms, history and when the fault occurs give the first useful direction.
Read relevant fault codes, module information and stored fault conditions.
Use live data, freeze-frame information and system behaviour where relevant.
Carry out appropriate electrical, sensor, mechanical or visual checks.
Bring the test results together before recommending the repair direction.
We explain the findings and can quote for repair where the next step is clear.
Depending on the fault and vehicle, diagnosis can draw on several types of evidence. We only highlight capabilities that form part of normal automotive fault-finding work.
The aim is to leave you with a clearer understanding of the vehicle and a sensible repair direction.
Time spent following the symptoms and evidence rather than treating the scan result as a parts list.
What we found, what the evidence points towards and what still needs proving if the fault is unusually complex.
A clear repair direction and, where possible, a quotation for Strive Motors to carry out the work.
The right setting depends on the fault. Some symptoms are ideal for an initial mobile investigation; others need workshop equipment or more involved access.
Diagnostics, roadside assistance and recovery now connect naturally, so a fault can move from first investigation to workshop repair without the customer having to start again.
A mobile technician attends the vehicle to diagnose the problem and repair it roadside where practical.

“He located the fault on my Micra and was able to fix it. I was put at ease, the work was explained clearly and completed to a high standard.”
“Professional, accommodating, communicative and trustworthy. They made what could have been a very stressful experience remarkably straightforward.”
“They managed to come out on very short notice and get everything sorted efficiently and to the highest quality.”
It is a fault investigation. We start with the symptoms and use the appropriate scan information, live data, electrical/mechanical tests and physical checks to work towards the cause.
No. A scan is one part of diagnostics. A code is evidence that a control unit has seen something abnormal; it does not automatically prove that the named component is faulty.
The standard diagnostic appointment covers the initial diagnostic hour. Some faults can be identified within that period; intermittent or complex faults can require further authorised investigation.
Yes. Non-start faults are a common reason for diagnosis. Depending on the fault and location, this may begin as a mobile appointment or require workshop follow-up.
Yes, where the fault is within our normal automotive diagnostic capability. Electrical diagnosis may include power/ground, wiring, connector, charging and sensor checks as appropriate.
Suitable faults can be investigated through a mobile diagnostic appointment. If the diagnosis needs workshop equipment or more invasive access, we will explain the next step.
Where the cause is established and the repair is within our service capability, Strive Motors can quote for and carry out the repair.
We explain what has been established and what further testing is recommended before carrying out additional diagnostic time. Complex faults are not silently turned into unlimited labour.
We work across a broad range of makes and models. Diagnostic depth can vary by vehicle/system, so tell us the registration and symptoms when booking.
Warning lights should be investigated rather than treated as a code-clearing service. Where appropriate, faults can be cleared after diagnosis or repair and the system checked to see whether the fault returns.
Book a diagnostic appointment with Strive Motors and give the technician the symptoms, registration and any warnings you have seen.
